Coming towards the end of such an exhausting and confined year, I wanted to turn my attention to how people have reconnected with not only themselves but the outdoors.
The outside world has become a place of existence again, as we all struggled to keep our sanity this year and last. The pandemic, almost like a filter has shown us what we truly need or what really matters in our lives during such times of struggle.
For Jon and many other wild swimmers, that need is fulfilled by the water. There are no boundaries in water, it is limitless, running and flowing forever. You can contain it, but only for a finite time before it flows back to the sea. It has the power to cleanse your body and free your mind as it carries you. Water has been the place where many people, wild swimmer or not, have turned to, to escape and forget just to be in the moment.
